Step 1

MEASUREMENTS: Approx 55½” x 60” [141 x 152.5 cm]
GAUGE: 8 sts x 13 rows = 4” [10 cm] in stocking st. Take time to check your gauge.
SPECIAL STITCH(ES) EXPLANATION(S):
- ML (Make loop): Knit into next stitch but do not drop stitch from needle. Bring yarn to front, wind yarn around left thumb, bring yarn to back, knit into same stitch (2 stitches made). Pass second stitch on right-hand needle over first stitch.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Cast on 109 sts (multiple of 12 sts + 13).
Row 1: K1. (ML) twice. K4. *K3. (ML) 5 times. K4. Rep from * to last 6 sts. K3. (ML) twice. K1.
Row 2 and alt rows: Purl.

Rep these 16 rows until work from beg measures approx. 59” [150 cm], ending on Row 1.
Cast off purlwise (WS).
Applied I-Cord Edge: With pair of double-pointed needles, cast on 3 sts onto right-hand needle. Beg at any corner of blanket, with RS facing and right-hand needle, *pick up 1 st from edge of blanket. Slide 4 sts over to opposite end of needle. Bring yarn around to back of work, K2. K2togtbl. Rep from * around edge of blanket.
Final Row: Sl1K. K2tog. psso. Fasten off. Sew beg and end of Applied I-Cord tog.
