Wooden hoops
I have been using wooden hoops for crafts for years. I do not remember the company name but it started with the letter D. They are amazing. Thicker wood and sturdier than the ones available in your store and did not crack easily. The ones in your store do because they have to be tight. Also, these newer ones have plastic on the metal at the top. Probably to keep it from scratching. But, it’s difficult to get off around the screw and bolt. I’ve purchased many over the years because I teach a group of young girls to cross stitch, teach my granddaughters and do Christmas ornaments out of them. If I could find the others, I would pay more because they are easier to work with. They have a gold screw and not silver. But, I have not been able to find them. I come to Michaels for the senior discount. I have JoAnns 1/2 mile from my home. I drive to Michaels 25 miles away because of selection and the savings.

Good Quality
Was disappointed in the shape of the hoop. After I started using it for my wreath it did not hold its round shape.

Splinters and not tight
Not great. The wood is splintering and it doesnt tighten enough which makes it difficult to work.
